Game of Stones (GoS) is a browser-based MMORPG based in the best-selling Wheel of Time world. Many thousands of players have enjoyed the game since the first version was released in 2004.

On the right can be found a list of known GoS servers. Any computer with a web server, PHP, and MySQL can act as a GoS server (these can be simply installed under the major OS's and come by default with most cheap hosting services).

If you would like to contribute additional features, please consider using SVN rather than simply working from the compressed code. Also note that the license this code is released under means that all modifications must stay open source for anyone who wishes to host or further improve upon the game.

All I can say for the code is... the first version was written in notepad. I'm embarrassed by the code (an excellent example of what code should never look like; see Big Ball of Mud), but it would be as simple to entirely rewrite it as to fix it up. Luckily it works well.

More and more HTML5 tutorials are popping up on the internet. Although it still is future talk, it's still great to see what this upcoming web standard can do for us.

One of the most interesting new HTML5 elements, has to be canvas. This element allows the developer to draw anything using j&097;vascript. I've never played around with this element, but still wanted to experiment with it.

Therefor, I re-created Lights Off, one of the first native games for the iPhone, but now using HTML5 canvas.
